Mayowa Kuyoro

I am so so excited to showcase my friend Mayowa who is a partner at McKinsey & Company where she is Head of West Africa Financial Services. Mayowa is also a global speaker and advocate for gender equity. 

I met Mayowa at Warwick University over 15 years ago, even back then I was inspired by her work ethic and tenacity. Although Mayowa was studying for an Engineering degree, she also took voluntary modules from the Warwick Business School which earned her a Deans Prize. Since then she has studied in the UK, US and Australia and has travelled the world for work. After joining McKinsey Nigeria as a business analyst, she has worked her way up the ranks and to partner in a remarkably short period of time.

Mayowa is passionate about being part of Africa’s growth story and works with private, public and social sector financial services clients in Africa on a number of topics including growth and large scale transformations.

I hope Mayowa inspires you too, she is an example that working hard, working smart and pursuing passion pays off. 

Mayowa’s nugget of advice is to remember that career is not a solo journey, we need mentors, sponsors to create opportunities.
